I am using saveqmgr to move queue from MQ version 5 to 7.5 When I export from version 6 the saveqmgr ends up returning the error "(oam.c) Unknown EntityType 3 for entity S..." at the end of its running.

I tested importing the queue on the 7.5 environment and they seem to have transported correctly. However I have not tested them in a live environment. Searching on-line does not seem to return meaningful result. Anyone who know what this error message is about and if I need to change something in the transfer?

Huh? Where does v6 fit into this?

Exactly which version of saveqmgr are you using on which version of mq?

Post the complete conversation (the command you issued, the output from the command).

Post the complete error message here.

That error from saveqmgr says that the version of saveqmgr you are using does not understand an authorization property returned by the queue manager...

That is, it means that the version of saveqmgr is not new enough to match the version of the queue manager.

You should use the *last* published version of saveqmgr for *all* versions of MQ v7 and earlier.

So upgrade your copy of saveqmgr and try again.

I am using version 6.1.4.0 of the saveqmgr, I thought that is the latest one since I dl from IBM. Is there a newer one out there.

Thank you for your reply mqjeff, really helpful but should V6.1.4.0 not understand the property from the queue manager?

This is the dl url for the saveqmgr I am using

The link states that this SupportPac requires WMQ Version 6.0 or 7.0. It does not state that it will work for later versions, such as WMQ Version 7.1 or 7.5.

I agree.

I'd suggest you email the current maintainer with the full output of ms03 and point him at this discussion.

You shouldn't be getting this error for a v6 qmgr.
