Guys,

Please visit the following link to go through the RFE's raised by our friends and try to Vote it if you really would like to see the new feature added in the upcoming releases of the product. RFE's with high votes and critical updates will be considered as top priority, moderators/experts correct me if i am wrong.

I cannot speak to the voting (and I am certainly not a moderator), but in general the IBM MB developers have over the years been very responsive to customer and practitioner requests if they can see the value. I can think of several requests that I personally made in the past that were incorporated into the product.
Voting for an RFE is likely good. Probably equally important would be to add additional comments to others' RFEs if you feel there is an important benefit that was overlooked or that hasn't been spelled out clearly enough.

I don't think the RFE system is intended to replace any of the activities or channels through which the IBM developers have responded to customer or practitioner requests.

IMHO it's intended to allow such people to have a convienient and central place through which requests / ideas can be banked, and the temperature of such request / ideas can be measured by IBM via the wider community through voting.

Uhm. RFE replaces the old email address for submitting requirements.

As far as I know, it's intended to be the central place to keep track of all requirements that are raised - so if you happen to be in a meeting with the lab, and you request a feature or enhancement, then it should get turned into an entry in the RFE system - although not necessarily a *public* one.

But not your account rep and other channels.

I personally think the RFE system is a very good one and much better than the previous one.

I believe, in theory, that your account rep and other channels are supposed to use the RFE system to record whatever you tell them.

Although, again, not necessarily in a *public* RFE.

I do know that I was once rather politely told by an L2 that a PMR is most definitely the wrong avenue to use to request an enhancement. He included the RFE URL in his suggestion....

PMR != Enhancement Request

PMR == Problem / Query

This has been true for ages.

Well, sometimes (like in my case) it seems like a query, but in the ensuing "conversation" with the L2 it turns into a "well why doesn't Hursley do this...."

And that's when the L2 rightly pulls the RFE card.

When contacting IBM Software Support it is important to understand what support is available through IBM: Specific product questions: If you have been trained on the product, you can submit specific questions or concerns.

One shouldn't open "how-to" questions through a PMR unless you have been fully trained on the product.

Some RFEs are from lack of experience or training with the product, example Ant.
