Well, the first and the easiest thing to do is.
PKGRM
followed by
PKGADD
If that doesnt work then probably you have to carefully review the Quick beginnings guide to see if you missed any config step. If not, probably place a call with IBM.
Cheers

pkgrm and pkgadd are solaris commands (OS commands and not mq commands). These commands are used to install (pkgadd for package add) and uninstall (pkgrm for package remove) software. From what you say it looks lke you don't have mq installed right.
Remove MQ using pkgrm (refer to the man pages of pkgrm if you are new to it) nad make sure there is no residue left. THen try to install MQ after the prereqs are met. Following the manual step by stpe strictly would help. If you have any further problems post them.

Vennala,
Sorry, I mean I dont have acess to PKGRM and PKGADD. I dont have root priveliges due to some securities on my client side. I have switch user acess. Could you please the above install configuration on that status is showing "PARTIALLY INSTALLED", is that means MQ is not installed properly or what?
Thanks

Well, "partially installed" is a Solaris definition. And as per my recollection the only way out is to remove the package it says is partially installed and reinstall it again. Dont think there is any other way out.
Also who installed MQ on this system. If it were not you, then ask the respective person with root previledges to remove it and re-install it. Am afraid there is not much MQ issue in it.
What happens if you su root??? Can you not do that???
Hope this helps.
Cheers

Thanks Kumar, for your valuable information. The problem is MQ is installed on Production box. If we want to reinstall MQ it is really tedious process from my client side. I have to prove that MQ is not installed properly with out that I have to face n number questions.
I checked the installation of MQ as per the "MQ for Sun Solaris Quick Begin" as per the verfication "Verifying a Local Installation" on page 23, it works fine. No were in this doucument specified "mqver".
Could you please let me know the MQ re-installation is necessary..
Thanks and Regards |

Jagan, i am really sorry to say, but i think the better option is to reinstall MQ. From what i recollect working on Solaris, Partially installed is not good. And i have always reinstalled that particular software when i saw this. Also bear in mind, you cannot risk with a Client. And hence its always to be safer at a clients site than messing it up.
From the way you put it, it seems it would be hard to reinstall MQ, but i would strongly recommend you to do that.
Are there any consequences if you dont. I am not sure. You may or may not. But there is always a chance.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

Kumar,
Thanks very much. Your are right MQ is already installed by the Unix admins. And they are aksing me why re install? This would go to production in the next couple weeks. Iam trying my level best to reinstall the MQ. Iam sure we are not having in CSD patch on MQ. But Finally we are installing the CSD patch for that.
Could any body let me know what could be the reson..for the status "Partially Installed" on /usr/bin/pkginfo -l mqm
Master Brondon please reply for this issue.
Thanks In Advance
