Is there any scenario like 2 queue managers with same QMID?

Create a linear-log queue manager on one system and the exact 'same' queue manager on another system. Examine their QMIDs and compare them. Then use one of the queue managers as a Stand-by queue manager for the other, and start it. Re-examine the QMIDs, then come back and ask the question again.

Thanks knight...

As far as i know QMID is assigned to the queue manager,at the time of queue
manager is created, the QMID is the queue manager name+time stamp of queue manager creation time.

As you said it is possible with two separate systems,i want to know that weather is it possible on one system?

If those are on different systems which queue manager will be selected by default?

Thanks..

Correct.

No I didn't, I said try an experiment. I admit the possibility that you could be lucky enough to define two queue managers, of the same name, on different systems, and that by a zillion-to-one chance have the same QMID.

Try creating two queue managers with the same name on a single system. What happens? What does that tell you?

Neither; the same-named queue manager could be set as the default queue manager on each system.

Working as designed. Try creating the 2nd qmgr in another o/s instance; the compare qmid's.

Why the question? What is the requirement (just the basic details)?
