Small Doubt:
Generally when we get AMQ7017 log not available issue we cold start and our queue manager gets started. But all the persistent messages gets stored in the active logs.If this occurs in production.........we can restart our queue manager using the mentined concept. If messages are moving throgh the queue........and then a crash happens and logs are corrupted. Then whats the situation.Correct me if I am going wrong ? |

You're doomed.

Where you're going wrong is that the first time you got an AMQ7017 you should have urgently reviewed both the log sizings on the queue manager, and then the UoW design on the applications that use it! Even if (as here) it's not a production queue manager and hence you can shrug & restart it, it's a clue that something is chewing up log. Unless that queue manager has ridiculously small logs then one day that something will hit production. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

What are the size of your logs? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Also, persistent messages are never *only* stored in the logs.
They are always stored in *both* the logs *and* the queue file. |

Under normal circumstances absolutely. And a key reason it's best practice to have queue files & logs on 2 different devices.
Depending on exactly what point and under what circumstances the queue manager crashed with an out of space condition I'd hate to rely on that for a high value production message. Especially when prevention is so straightforward _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
