Hello everyone!
Is there a way to bind MQ to run only on specific CPUs(or a specified number of CPUs) on a multi-CPU server? If so, how do we configure it?
Thanks in advance,
Balaji. |

If this can be done, it would be a function of the operating system, not MQ. As such, the answer will vary depending on the platform.
You'll need to look in your operating system documentation (or ask someone who knows that platform very well) to see if it allows any application to be bound to a specific CPU, and how to do it if it can be done.
If it is possible, remember that you will have several processes to worry about: Qmgr, Channel initiator, listener, etc. Would you also want every application that issues an MQI call to be bound to the same CPU?
