Has anyone used MS0P to set-up remote administration of MQ on a UNIX server from MQ Explorer running on a Windows PC. I am able to connect from MQ explorer to view the qmgr info. I would like to be able to stop/start the qmgr, so I installed MS0P.
Installation worked okay, I have 'Administered Server' in the display.
When I try setting up the 'Administration of Remote Server' using the MS0P notes I get 'cannot establish session with server xx.xx.xx.xx' error.
I assume it cannot be a firewall issue since I can putty to the UNIX box from my PC, and also use MQ Explorer to connect to the actual QMGR on UNIX.
The MQ Explorer is V7.0 & the QMGR on UNIX is V7.01.
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks. |

The response I got was;
'cannot establish session with server xx.xx.xx.xx'
This appeared when I use the 'Test' connection button.
Thanks. |

I specified unknown first, since that tries all the protocols but that gave the same result. Then I selected SSH, still the same result.
Before and after installing the plugin/MS0P I am able to connect to the QMGR using MQ Explorer and also SSH to the UNIX box using putty(SSH option) from Windows. |

I initially posted in the 'MS0P updated/enhanced' thread. Now, I'm not sure if I should have asked a moderator to move that post, start a new post or continue this thread. My apologies... (I can hear Walter Sobchak yelling at me "Dude, are you f***ing this up?")
Anyway, I'm running MQ Explorer 7.5 with MS0P installed on my Windows XP workstation.
I'm trying get Remote Administration working (mostly because I'd like to be able to examine queue manager error logs without having to login to each MQ server individually).
In our firm, we are not allowed direct access to any server. As the MQ Admin, we must login using our AD account, then sudo su - mqm
I am able to add one of our older development remote MQ servers using the mqm userid because this server has not been converted to using AD yet.
But for the rest, while I can add the remote MQ server where the queue managers reside using my own userid, I get permission errors when I try to display an error log. I know my userid shouldn't be added to the mqm group.
As for using the 'SSH Certificate Store', there's really nothing in the documenation about it. Is this supposed to be the default Windows store, or specific to MQ Explorer? When I click on the 'Browse' button next to the 'SSH Certificate Store', nothing happens. I can paste a directory path into the field but don't know what to put in.
If anyone has configured Remote Administration using SSH certificates, would you please pass on any tips? Thanks! _________________ Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man. - The Dude |
