Regardless, again, MQ Explorer includes an integrated client.
And if you're really looking to provide a large set of users with a web-based tool for managing or viewing portions of your MQ infrastructure or data about it, you really should be looking at a full and professional MQ monitoring solution. Most of these come with some kind of web tooling that should be configurable to provide a per-user customized experience. |
Ever tried justifying and paying for that recently?
Having said that, Appwatch from BMC is quite reasonably priced and does this.
But why not try what is free first (and written by one of the top MQ experts). |

I agree that m71 is quite feature-rich, but the UI seems to be a bit lacking and less intutive when comapred even to MQ explorer (or maybe I just havent explored it sufficiently). Is it possible at all to call specific functions in m071 to get the data returned and display it using my own web page(say)? Is the source code available? |

MO71 is not open source, although the author is quite open to suggestions. It is a spare-time project, not an IBM product.
You can imbed your own HTML in the MO71 web server and it has server side includes which then resolve to the actual MQ data being requested. This seems a good basis for building what you want. Check out the manual.
MO71 has enormous depths - it can be detuned for beginners but the ability to customise almost every option becomes very useful as you get to be more experienced.
I suppose an overall MO71 mode switch of "simple" or "expert" would make it more accessible to first-time users.
It wasn't that long ago, that MQ had no GUI at all.
To give (yet another) example of MO71 being useful - it can compare two queue managers, identify differences in queues and bring them into line (synchronise) as required. It can take 30 seconds to do a job that might take hours by other means.
Explorer doesn't do this sort of thing. It is getting gradually more powerful but I still dislike the way it is so slow to update. I have to pause between every action to let the flickering thing keep up.
Some nice plugins for explorer - like MS0P though. |
