Hi,
We have one AIX box on which there is MQ6.0 and MB6.1 installed. We use one user say user1 to access these components.
Now we have overwritten MQ6 by MQ7(as there cannot be 2 versions of MQ on same box) and have installed MB7.0(MB 6.1 and 7.0 can coexist).

We are using a different user say user2 to access services of these latest components.
We have set proper JRE paths in .profile files of user1 and user2.

Now when we are trying to do mqsilist on previous broker(by using user1) it is giving below error.

0509-036 Cannot load program mqsilist because of the following errors:
0509-130 Symbol resolution failed for /opt/IBM/mqsi/6.1/xml4c/lib64/libxml4c56.5.a because:
0509-136 Symbol XML4CMessages5_6_5_dat (number 87) is not exported from
dependent module /usr/mqm/lib64/libXML4CMessages56.a.
0509-192 Examine .loader section symbols with the
'dump -Tv' command.

What could be the reason for this?

Please help.

There's only ever one explanation for these kinds of issues, and that is that you have done the wrong thing with the user profile.

Always source the correct mqsiprofile - do not edit your local profile with information from mqsiprofile and do not alter mqsiprofile.

We have not altered anything in previous broker components. Just that we have installed new broker version on same box and have created different user for creating and operating brokers on MB7. This is no way related to altering previously running broker components.

Okay, so you haven't changed the previous mqsiprofile.

That's good.

You still haven't sourced it properly.
