Calling all MQ/Message Broker specialists in the North West of the UK; our client, a tier one global financial organisation is looking for a MQ/message broker specialist on a contract basis.
Applicants MUST have the right to work in the UK.
The role encompasses design, build and test of MQ and broker components as well ongoing project support and consultancy. The role will be infrastructure biased so message broker admininstration skills are required but not necessarily broker development skills.

IBM Message Broker v6.1/v7 - administration, production deployments etc
Strong Unix skills (AIX) - Shell Scripting etc
Good knowledge of MQ security - SSL, OAM level security etc.
MQ for z/OS, Windows and Linux experience a bonus
Previous experience working for a financial organisation would be desirable although not essential.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to face off to various groups within IT and the business are essential.
Please contact alana@jacobsdexter.com for further details or to apply. |

What exactly is meant by "the North West of the UK"?
I cannot imagine there are many tier one global financial organisations in the highlands and islands - but a MQ/MB job on Skye or thereabouts would nice.
Thanks,
Vicky |

I suspect a slight geographical bias here - for "UK" read "England" - not so United a Kingdom it seems
[Edit] and as job profiles are sometimes as distinctive as signatures, I would suspect this one is in Cheshire, with a bank with a blue logo? |

Much as I thought too.
I was once contacted about a job and went to look it up only to see that it was located in the North East of England. Being polite I returned the call to say 'thanks but no thanks', only to discover that it was in fact in Stirling (central Scotland), but that being over the border puts off a large proportion of potential applicants. Apparently lying on the advert doesn't put them off using the agency. |

And you get such a nice class of person north of the border as well. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
