As IBM has withdrawn the MC91 support pack and also depreciated. Will the qmgr created using MI command eg crtqmq. -md and -ld and dspmqinf -o command qmgr for creating qmgr configuration and adding this to next node. will work with veritas cluster server or systems ?
have any one of you implemented this combination ? |

I thought IC91 had been withdrawn because the functionality had been built into the base product as you indicate.
A better question is why wouldn't v7 work with VCS? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Perfect. But my logic is this. IBM has included MI features in MQ7 which replaces the need of veritas or any other third party software to provide HA solution, why should they continue providing the costly solution ( not sure this is available in Solaris) ? But still a questinos? I have asked by one of my developer /analyst about this. When I asked why he is not considering using MI, i have told that Solaris has a bug that does not allow to use nsf4 ? not sure though. So they want to go wtih vcs for HA soluton. |

I do believe there is an issue.

It does - for WMQ and WMB. If you have a database, app server or other software you'd like to failover you still need VCS or other HA software. If you have such a requirement it makes sense for a number of reasons to include WMQ in the VCS node so it moves as a piece.
VCS also provides additional functionality and automation for failover that MI does not. That's why it costs. Do you need that additional costly functionality? Depends on the exact requirements of your site.

That is fair enough. Thanks a lot. |
