hi,

I am trying to connect to WebSphere App Serevr v4.0.3 in remote machine using JMS.

In jmsadmin.config file I mentioned -
PROVIDER_URL=iiop://alpha/
INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY=com.ibm.ejs.ns.jndi.CNInitialContextFactory
AUTHENTICATION=none

And on running JMSAdmin.bat, I am getting -
JNDI Initialisation failed, please check your JNDI settings.

In trace of JMSAdmin, I am getting -

com.ibm.mq.jms.admin.AdminService@21c887 Throwing javax.naming.ServiceUnavailableException: NULL returned when resolving initial reference=NameService

Please let me know if I am missing anything here?

For localhost, JMSAdmin works fine. So I think something missing for remote context provider. And yes, websphere application server is running on remote machine, and I tried giving IP address also in provider url.

Please help if you can.

thanks.

Use
com.ibm.websphere.naming.WsnInitialContextFactory for WAS 4

Also, check your CLASSPATH.

I have used remote WAS for JNDI and I didn't have any problems.
Search this forum to what all jar files you need for JMSAdmin or post it here to know what you are missing.

hi,

My setup is working fine for localhost, only when I specify ipaddress or machine name of remote machine, it fails. So i think, CNInitialContext is (maybe also) fine with WAS 4.

Can anyone tell me what can be wrong in this setup?

rgds.
