You can change number of your log files, but not a size.
Find the following stanza in qm.ini configuration file ( found in /var/mqm/qmgrs/<QMGRNAME> )
Quote: |
Log:
LogPrimaryFiles=3
LogSecondaryFiles=2
|
Increase the values. _________________ Regards.

max primary & secondary log files in 63 in total.
The maximum number of 4k pages in an AIX log file is 16384.
As mentioned above you can only change the number of log files without re-building the queue manager - however you always delete and re-create the qmgr!
Try the MQSeries system admin guide for a start, good sections would be:
Chapter 10 & Chapter 14.
I also believe there is a red book on backup and recovery.

And someone correct me if I'm wrong, but don't you also have to restart the queue manager in order for the increased number of log files to take effect? _________________ Brandon Duncan

so it is possible to modify the number of primary and/or secondary files,
but is it possible:
- to increase the number (sure)
- what about to decrease the number of log files?
if that's possible: do we have to delete the old files before restarting the Qmgr after ? the new log files will be recreated?

Why don't you try this scenrio of decreasing number of log files on your box.
you should not delete the log files manually(circular).if you do this you will not able to recover your queue manager from disaster failure.queue manager automatically takes care of assigning and removing log files according to the need.
BeAware of the total no of log files(primary (2 min)+ secondary)sholud not be less than 3. |
