Hi
Has something changed in MQv7 in regards to conversion ?
Just upgrade OS390 to MQv7 and my WAS JMS apps (AIX MQv7) started to fail with conversion errors
we were getting MQ 2111 errors relating to characterset conversions after upgrade on MainFrame
I had to install bos.iconv.ucs.ebcdic on the AIX box to get this working again
So I guess my question is what has changed in MQv7 for OS390 that would cause this or did I forget to install a component during upgrade ?
I had no conversion issues prior to MQv7 upgrade and nothing new was introduced in regards to messaging worked for years |

Are you sure that you never had any conversion related messages in the logs that would have gone away had you implemented the bos.iconv.us.ebcdic?
It might not have had any effect on the messages but things change a little bit with V7... Also I would not recommend any level below 7.0.1.3 .... best use 7.0.1.5 _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Everything was fine prior to upgrade
We are at 7.0.1.5 which was also part of the upgrade |

Well glad the installation of the OS conversion files fixed it for you. _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Yes installing that did fix the issue what I am more concerned about is the cause...
What changed ? where was it highligted that this would occur ? all the nice questions that come from above when an upgrade is preceived to have failed because a developer couldnt access DEV for a bit |

Yes I have just read the same link...seems the issue was with the MQv7.0.1.5 upgrade on AIX and not the MF v7 upgrade |
