The url ibm offered you pretty much explains the likely causes of a 2018 r/c.
What platform?
What WMQ version/release?
Was the 2018 a one-time event?
Does the app execute regularly?
Has the application code changed? You can ask the programmer; and you can dump the executable, look at the compile/bind date.

Ah, a mystery. With what little information is available, I going to speculate (consultant-speak for 'guess') that it was an application code defect.
