Message Broker explorer is the way to go for admin anyway. |

No, not really.
V6 and v6.1 tooling expect to talk to a ConfigMgr.
There is no ConfigMgr in v7.
Likewise, v7 tooling expects to NOT talk to a ConfigMgr, and 6.1 and 6.0 brokers CAN'T be managed without one. |

No I mean MQ broker explorer 7.
You can read the IS02 documentation to see what it supports but why are you so bothered about having one tool, when they can co-exist (e.g. toolkit and MB explorer)? |

The problem is I need to manage a broker in version 7.0 that is in another country and I have no means of version 7, I have only version 6.1 toolkitjavascript:emoticon(' ') |

Then you should push back on whoever gave you the job of administering this v7 broker and tell them you need the v7 tooling.
How you get both v6.1 & v7 tooling to co-exist on your machine is detailed in the InfoCenter. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

You can download and install both WebSphere MQ Explorer v7.0 and Broker Explorer v7.0 as supportPacs.
You can't then install them on the same machine as WebSphere MQ v6.0 Explorer, however, nor use Broker Explorer v7.0 from within the MQ V6 MQ Explorer.
So you have to give up being able to administer Broker v6.x objects. |

You only have to give up on the IS02 support pac. You can use the v7 Explorers to administer the v7 objects, then use the v6.1 Toolkit to administer the v6.1 objects.
Unless you can't get hold of the v6.1 Toolkit, in which case you have to give up on being able to administer v6.1 objects _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Yeah. My brain chided me on that right *after* I hit "submit".
It's also technically possible to run both versions of MQ Explorer on the same machine - although only one will think it is the "installed" version and only one will be able to make "bindings" connections.
But that's left as an exercise. |

An exercise for those who feel juggling chain-saws while they're running just a bit too "tame"? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
