I want to add two numbers which is stored as strings

"12340.20" and "34.20",

when i retrieve this form dtabase I am not able to add those value ,instead I am getting "12340.20" in the result.

Experts excuse !

I initalized the variable holder to '0' ,then performed the addition.

LEt me know if anybody has other way to do this.Thank you.
