1) What have you done to investigate the problem BEFORE posting here?
2) Does
Code:

/var/mqm/qmgrs/PRUQMGR1

Exist?

IMHO, the text in the error message AMQ7001 is pretty self explanatory.

MODERATORS,
Can this be moved to the appropriate forum?

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.

With the caveat that the file system can be invalid on an open for more reasons than non-existence.

But doing any independent investigation of the problem would throw this and other relevant facts up.

If you want help ASAP (presumably because you've been called in on a Saturday for a problem) there are 3 things you should do:

1) Raise a PMR - we're not a support desk with an SLA

2) Find out what's changed since the queue manager last successfully started. This could be tied to why it was brought down (or crashed)

3) Read the error. With more skill than you applied to the section title, and some thought.
