That statement is based on the assumption you had exactly the problem given in the link under exactly those circumstances. Not a bad assumption, but circumstances seem to have proved it wrong.

fixpack,,, would mean downtime, an would be time consuming.. as it needs a lot of approvals..
any other option..

Reproduce in Dev/QA and find fix there (including applying latest fix pack).
Then deploy to prod.
