with Windows 2000
you can use the net start / stop commands
from the command prompt
to start/stop the "ibm mqseries" service
=>
net start "ibm mqseries"
net stop "ibm mqseries"
with unix there is no thing like a "ibm mqseries" service
you simple have to start / stop your queue managers
=>
strmqm [-z][-c] [QMgr name]
endmqm [-z] [-c | -w | -i | -p] QMgr name

Dont use the strmqm with Windows, because when you logoff some of the
process running will stop and bring down the queue manager. It may not happen right away. _________________ Jeff
