Hi,

Windows Server 2008 [64bit] vs Windows Server 2008 R2

I would like to upgrade our environment to the following:
Code:
WebSphere Message Broker V7.0,
WebSphere MQ V7.0.1,
DB2 V9.7

According to IBM website DB2 V9.7 and WebSphere MQ V7.0.1 will run on Windows Server 2008 R2

WebSphere Message Broker V7.0 indicates Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Standard or Enterprise 64-bit Edition and NOT Windows Server 2008 R2.

Can anyone confirm whether WebSphere Message Broker V7.0 is supported on Windows Server 2008 R2. If it's not supporeted as yet, can anyone give me an idea of when it will be supported on the 2008 R2 platform?

Thx in advance for your assistance

Regards

I think you might be slightly confused.

Server 2008 R2 is a 'feature update' release on top of the original Server 2008. More like a superset.
There is (AFAIK) both a 32 & 64 bit version of both Server 2008 & Server 2008 R2.

But the only way to get an official answer to your question is to raise a PMR.
You might have to wait until V7.0.0.1 for the official support message to appear.

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.

If it was merely a feature update then surely Broker V7 would have been certified to run on Windows Server 2008 R2 by now. There is more to it.

Please, if anyone knows whether Broker V7 is supported on Windows Server 2008 R2, please let me know.

Thx

If it's not listed here: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=849&uid=swg27017126

Or here:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmbhelp/v7r0m0/topic/com.ibm.etools.mft.doc/ah09082_.htm

Then it either hasn't been tested or the test results haven't been made public yet.

If the tests haven't been done, then nobody can tell you anything. If they merely haven't been made public, then the only way to find out is to open a PMR. And even then you might not get an answer.

Thx a mil Jeff. I'll have to open a PMR. I'll update this link once I get a response from them.
