Can anyone share what the file system requirements for MQv6.x or latest fix patch (6.0.2.9) would be and what it is for the most current version of MQ at v7.x? |

Did you look at the Quick Beginnings manual for this? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

And the Recommended Fixes web page? _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Do you mean, how many free Gbs are needed in your /opt, /var etc.?
I assume you are talking about a Unix-type OS.
No-one will be able to tell you this accurately. MQ's install uses the OS-provided installer programs, and whatever disk space they use (eg. in locations under /var) might vary according to the release, patch level of the OS.
Further to this, you might have installed all of the MQ filesets, or you might have installed a minimal set. Or something inbetween. So you will get different MQ files installed depending on what has been installed previously.
If you need to know the number for certain, do a test on a test machine somewhere, using exactly the same OS, patch levels and MQ code levels, and installed filesets. Before running the test install, say "df -k". After running the install, say the same command, and compare. |
