Hello,
We run WMB 6.1.0.3 on AIX with DB2. The broker has about 10 EG and some EGs are loaded with more than 30 flows and java classes-we use JCN and not ESQL- and in some cases message sets as well. So when I try to deploy a bar file the execution group would just hang. Now this brings me to probably the mother of all question. Do we have any guideline as to how the broker architecture is i.e.
1.Per CPU how many broker should be?
2.How many EGs should we create per broker instance?
3.How many flows/message sets should be deployed per EG?
I understand that oft repeated answer would be IBM does not specify any number and its best a trial and an error method and every configuration is different. But would still like to hear some opinion on this.

Hi gmmqnet,
The 1 question is answerable...you basically need to do the broker sizing. Give all the inputs of flows, msg sets, complexity, load etc etc (its a questionnaire), and IBM will get back to you with the recommended hardware sizing. Catch your IBM sales rep.
The other questions are then a mix-n-match and trial-n-error...but atleast you'll be sure that the box is supposed to support the entire load.
Regards. |
