Hi Please help,

I have a message set that I created using 3 Cobol copy books and managed to create a global message and use the in one definition file and it works.

Now my next problem is getting the message definistion to work with a field identifier. I looked at the sample for TDS and it works fine, but when I try to apply my Tagged Fixed with to the Message Definition file then it doesn't work.

Can I possible do it, have a message Definition that includes CWF and TDS.

There first three charecters of the line identifies my record type

No - you cannot mix physical formats. But you should not need to because TDS can do almost anything that CWF can do ( since v6.1 ).

Tagged Fixed Length sounds like the correct choice. But the words 'it doesn't work' are not allowed on this forum
Please explain what happened. Quote error messages, or a user trace.
