Hi:
We have a customer which acquired full licenes for MQ in linuxen machines (two servers), but it would like to use an Graphic Interface to manage it, like MQExplorer on Windows.
I've used trial version of WMQ on windows to connect on linuxen servers, to manage then. It worked well, and he asked for use MQExplorer to manage QMs on linux.
Is it necessary use an MQ License to use MQExplorer to manage remote Queue Managers? I've verified that MQ Trial license in Windows was expired (I couldn't create an Local QM, i.e.), but I could use it to manage an remote MQ. So, this seems not necessary use an new License, to use WMQ only to manager remote MQ (licensed, of course).
Is it right?

Partly. You're not strictly supposed to use any part of the trial software after the period has expired, but the WMQ Explorer is available as a free support pac (MS0T) so the difference between the WMQ Explorer supplied as part of the trial license and the one supplied free as a support pac is probably only visible to lawyers.
If it was me (and it's not) I'd remove the unlicensed software, install the support pac and remove any possible doubt. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

There is a difference between a license and $ cost for a product. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.
