I forgot to mention one more thing... I also displayed dspmq -x -o standby -o status, before powering-off the VM and made sure that the standby and active machines are running..

I'm really quite not sure if NFS V4 is really a requirement. It doesn't state it anywhere as a hard requirement in the manual.

What manual? You didn't do much research.

This is the slideshow from the WMQ MI announcement.
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27017382&aid=1
It identifies NFS v4 is a requirement.

Do a Google search for WMQ+NFS+v4, and read the IBM WMQ announcements. Such as...
Network File System version 4 (NFS v4) satisfies this requirement. Please note that earlier versions of NFS do NOT satisfy this requirement and must not be used with multi-instance queue managers.

I found a reason why NFSv4 is required for HA setup.

Unlike previous versions of NFS, NFSv4 suports traditional file access while integrating support for FILE LOCKING and MOUNT protocol (which is why I'm facing lot of issues till now).

Just wanted to share this info with you all..

Please check http://www.novell.com/communities/node/3787/configuring-nfsv4-server-and-client-suse-linux-enterprise-server-10 for more info on how to setup a server for NFSv4 compliant.

Regards

You are absolutely right. I got HA test for MQ 7.0.1 working perfectly fine.

I tested all the failover scenarios along with switch over scenarios and they all are working fine.

So, the answer to many problems we were discussing earlier was... USE NFSv4 as the file system protocol for testing and it works just fine...

Thank you all for your wonderful replies and please let me know if anyone of you have issues with the setup (or) any other... and I'll be more than happy to provide my suggestions...

have a nice day!!!!
