MY ENVIRONMENT:

AIX 4.3.3
MQ 5.3 (HA enabled)

MY PROBLEM:

When qmgr starts up, I see the following in the the qmgr's errorlogs.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-
01/14/03 13:59:03
AMQ8003: WebSphere MQ queue manager 'TESTQM' started.

EXPLANATION:
WebSphere MQ queue manager 'TESTQM' started.
ACTION:
None.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-
01/14/03 13:59:03
AMQ9410: Repository manager started

EXPLANATION:
The repository manager started successfully.
ACTION:
None.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-

So far, so good, but then, _repeatedly_ (maybe 20 or so times) the following

shows up in the errorlogs...

01/14/03 13:59:04
AMQ5525: The WebSphere MQ Object Authority Manager has failed.

EXPLANATION:
The Object Authority Manager has failed to complete an MQ request.
ACTION:
Check the queue manager error logs for messages explaining the failure and try

to correct the problem accordingly.
----- amqzfubx.c : 1130

-------------------------------------------------------

Then...

01/14/03 13:59:05
AMQ9542: Queue manager is ending.

EXPLANATION:
The program will end because the queue manager is quiescing.
ACTION:
None.
----- amqrimna.c : 768

--------------------------------------------------------
01/14/03 13:59:05
AMQ9542: Queue manager is ending.

EXPLANATION:
The program will end because the queue manager is quiescing.
ACTION:
None.
----- amqrrmfa.c : 4201

-------------------------------------------------------
01/14/03 13:59:05
AMQ9510: Messages cannot be retrieved from a queue.

EXPLANATION:
The attempt to get messages from queue 'SYSTEM.CLUSTER.REPOSITORY.QUEUE' on
queue manager 'TESTQM' failed with reason code 2009.
ACTION:
If the reason code indicates a conversion problem, for example
MQRC_SOURCE_CCSID_ERROR, remove the message(s) from the queue. Otherwise,
ensure that the required queue is available and operational.
----- amqrfica.c : 404

--------------------------------------------------------
01/14/03 13:59:05
AMQ9409: Repository manager ended abnormally.

EXPLANATION:
The repository manager ended abnormally.
ACTION:
Look at previous error messages for the repository manager in the error files
to determine the cause of the failure.
----- amqrrmfa.c : 3940

-------------------------------------------------------
01/14/03 13:59:14
AMQ8004: WebSphere MQ queue manager 'TESTQM' ended.

EXPLANATION:
WebSphere MQ queue manager 'TESTQM' ended.
ACTION:
None.

I have searched the listeserv for 'AMQ5525' and have found nothing.

These errors ONLY happen when the following lines are included in the qmgr's

ini file:

Service:
Name=AuthorizationService
EntryPoints=10

ServiceComponent:
Service=AuthorizationService
Name=MQSeries.UNIX.auth.service
Module=/usr/mqm/lib/amqzfu
ComponentDataSize=0

If I remove or comment these lines out, the qmgr is happy as a pig in mud. So

abviously (???), this has something to do with the OAM.

I have checked the system errorlogs and nothing too interesting there. I did

see some FDC files that got generated though. The one that is generated at

the start of the AMQ5525 failure has a header as follows:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks.

- Tony

I don´t run across that problem before, but I´ve been looking into "System Administration Guide", chapter 20 page 142, line 15, gives a reason because a qmgr don´t start. There has to be the solution.

Other reason (very strange), that I think could be is if you have change an attribute of a system queue, we had this problem, check SYSTEM.AUTH.DATA.QUEUE...

good luck!

Thanks XIPO,

Just got a response from another colleague, seems as though the CSD01 for 5.3 (5.3.0.1) fixes this. It is also part of APAR number IY34300.

Later....

Try calling IBM Support. This looks a lot like APAR IY34300.
