hi,

is it possible to run app built on MQ v7 (C++ application which uses mqic) )on Queue manager v6? or I need to rebuild it to get version for QueueManager v6?

also, do I really need to install MQ client on each PC I want run my MQSeries application on?

I tried coping all required dlls (list below) on client pc, but recieved error reason 2195 when connecting to QueueManager.

here is the list of dlls I copied:
MQIC.DLL
AMQXCS2.DLL
AMQXCSN.DLL
AMQRMQIA.DLL
AMQMTMGC.DLL
AMQMADCN.DLL
AMQCMEMA.DLL
AMQZSAIC.DLL

Should do, though I've not tried it, provided the application doesn't try and use any of the new v7 features.

Yes.

Ever wondered why Windows applications come with a little application to do the installation? It's because getting stuff to work on Windows requires more than just copying the files into the correct place.

(I wish it wasn't the case, but we are where we are!)

An exception to needing the client is Java, and you'll find a number of debates along the lines of "you can do it, but should you do it?".

I got this and this using "client install" as a search term. There are many other examples further down the page.
