Hey everyone.

I was wondering: how does one set the open options and message options to SET_ALL_CONTEXT?

I wish to override the PutApplType field.
Totally available using native MQ, not so much (of my knowledge) using JMS...

The only reference to that is:

But - as you can see - it is MQ7. Not good...

Anyone? any suggestions?

This field is read only (

the manual) and allows you to get the information from non JMS applications. For JMS applications this is a message property in the RFH2 (AFAIK). Have fun

Okay, listen - this is the deal:

I am connecting to a legacy aplpication no one will ever ever change. This is a given.

I HAVE to set the ApplType field. Set, not read. And I have to do it using JMS, not MQ Native (which does allow you to set this field).

Any creative solutions which do not envolve changing the target app, or using native MQ?

You have conflicting requirements. You can NOT set the ApplType field in JMS, it is set by the send() method.
