Does anyone know why by using the staff resolution for all users option, does the utilitization of the processor increase, as opposed to using Dynamic Staff resolution.
Isn't is better to specifically set pointers to the staff right there in buildtime when modelling, instead of starting a thread during runtime to run an algorithm that does that?
Similar scenario:
-I have 2 identical block activities (Block Activity A and Block Activity B)
-I also have 3 people defined in staff (John, Mary and Vince)
Both Blocks achieve the same functionality at the end of the day.
Block activity A uses the "Dynamic assignment from Page 2" and refers to a role that contains (John, Mary and Vince).
While Block B uses the "All People" option also in buildtime and behind the scenes simply points to the all staff defined.
Technically if in buildtime only John, Mary and Vince are defined under staff; Block B will also evaluate to John, Mary and Vince at the end of the day.
Here are my questions for this scenario now...
1.) Which way is better and why?
2. ) Perhaps, what are some factors I should consider when designing a model in regards to this.
Any explanation on this subject would be appreicated!

Praveen:
I am not sure I understand the question... but here goes:
If you use "All Persons" MQWF must first obtain the list of all Persons and then generate a workitem for each person it finds. I realize that this is on the "Static" staffing tab in Buildtime, but it still requires some database lookup.
If you specify a "Dynamic" option say a Role, then MQWF must first obtain the list of Persons in that role, then generate the Workitems.
If you specify "Specific Persons" (John Mary Vince), MQWF does not need to do any lookup, it can simply generate the workitems.
The BEST way to staff (from the performance point of view) in my opinion is to use "Specific Persons", However, this does not lead to good flexablity unless you implement some type of "Virtual User" scheme.
My goal, whenever possible, is to have a 1 - 1 correspondance between ActivityInstances and Workitems. The best way to meet this goal is to use a "Virtual User" technique.
Hope this helps _________________ John McDonald

Okay, this makes more sense now. Thanks John!
