Has anyone successfully set up a queue manager for an automated restart using QPasa? I'm new to the tool, just took my first class on it last week, and the idea of automating restarts and executing programs was mentioned, but it never went into detail.
I've managed to successfully set up triggers and alerts, and further make them into templates that work. I've got the trigger for the restart working, as well as the appropriate e-mail alerts, etc., but it simply doesn't appear that the restart commands (the scripts that are provided with QPasa) are making it to the system.
I'm using the latest version of QPasa, Version 4.1.0.130D, and MQ Version 6.0.24 for Windows.
Any advice or direction would be most welcome!
Thanks! _________________ "Don't take life too seriously... you won't get out of it alive..." |

Just as an aside note, before automating a qmgr restart, I would really want to know why it stopped / crashed in the first place. There is no point in restarting the qmgr on automation unless you have fixed the cause of the crash... If you need to get paged when the qmgr crashes but don't just restart it... investigate first _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Oh, don't get me wrong, I completely agree with that, but I'm not at that point in the process yet... right now, I just want to get the functionality to work, and I'll tweak the details about when to restart (after investigation, etc) once I can actually get the restart to work!
Thanks though! _________________ "Don't take life too seriously... you won't get out of it alive..." |

Ask their (MQSoftware) help desk. They are pretty good. _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Thank you, that will certainly be my next step! I'm just trying to exhaust all other resources first. _________________ "Don't take life too seriously... you won't get out of it alive..." |
