Hi,
I'm using Message broker v 6.1.0.3 and using FileOutput node to write to the files(Not using FTP property for File node). I've the requirement to archive each and every file, irrespective of whether the file name is same or not.
I understand that, using the 'Output File Action" configurations in File nodes, I can archive only those files if it comes with the same name again. So the existing files will be archived before creating the new file.

In my case, filename will never be same as I'm appending the timestamp with filename. So how can I achieve Archival here? Any build in property available in Broker for this.
Which is the best way to achieve this? please suggest?

Regards,
Vakku.

Archive in WMB terms means rename the file and put it in a given directory. Since you control the name of the file and where it goes - you can do the same.

Thanks for the reply.

Does it means, In addititon to the normal File Write operation, I've to explicitly add logic in my esql to PROPAGATE the file with the required file name to the Archival directory also?

What do you want to achieve by "archival"?

WMB uses it to resolve naming conflicts - you don't have these - so what does it mean to you?

If you want to create a duplicate file, you can do so. It's more usual for whatever processes the first file, to create the copy or move the original to indicate that is has been processed.

My primary objective, is to save the files for future reference and also as a back-up.

Suppose I'm placing the files in directory /abc. After some time, some applcaition will poll for it and will consume the file. Even if something goes wrong in that application, if I've the back-up of the file, I can re-instantiate the process. I'm basically looking at this recovery process.
