I have a doubt on restoring configmgr using mqsirestoreconfigmgr command. I have a backup of a configmgr which is having some problems, I want to test the same configmgr on a different server to see if it has the same problem.
I have copied the backup on the new server, my question here is should I use the same name to create the new configmgr and associated Queuemanager(will the repos have the names of these objects) or a new name will work. I have always worked on backing up the same configmgr and restoring it, never came across this situation.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

You did not specify the version so I will assume you are at least at version 6.0.
The infocenter gives you the procedure for both of your cases. Write it down, learn it by rote and FOLLOW it. _________________ MQ & Broker admin |
