Have installed MQ 5.3 in a windows machine and created the req QM and q's, but after a while I'm not able to open the appl b'coz its giving the error
" Unable to complete this task because you do not have authority to
administer Websphere MQ. You must be in the Administrators group, in the
mqm group or logged in with the system ID to administer Websphere MQ
(AMQ4212) "
Let me know wht it might be |

Why? It's at least two years out of service...

If you can still find a copy of the Quick Beginnings book it'll tell you all about configuring WMQ in a Windows AD environment...but my guess is you have installed as an Admin, then logged on with a non-Admin level account. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

for resolving the above problem, I've used the below commands and the problem was resolved:
1. amqmsrvn -regserver -user <user> -password <password>
2. regsvr32 amqmspsn.dll
But the problem resurfaced and I had to use the same command again to resolve it. let me know wht would be the permanent fix for it. |

Try upgrading to a supported version... _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

- Speak to your Windows domain admin
or
- move to a Unix platform with a sensible security model.
I echo the comments regarding version; why would you install an old version? If you're building a machine it's the ideal oppertunity to start the upgrade process even if the rest of your estate is v5.3 _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
