Hi all,

In production environment, the message broker was updating few tables of a database. This database is located in different server and not in the server where Message broker is installed.

Now the database which was used by the Message Broker for updation of few tables was recycled. when it was recycled few process where found running from Message Broker to the database.

Now when the database was recycled, MB was not brought down..it was still running...

The same day we got the error saying MQBEGIN Failed MQCC - 2 and MQRC - 2009. Because of which flows are not picking up any messages from the queue.

Please let me know was the error because of the recycling of database?

And also let me know what can be done to overcome the issue?

Thanks

Better procedures, especially in your production environment, that ensure systems are closed down with respect to their dependencies?

Ideally, if your broker DB (DB used internally by the Broker) is being recycled, your admins should bring down the broker before the change and bring it back up after.

If it is an application DB (DB used on a message flow) , then a recycle of the DB should not affect the working of the broker. You will get an error indicating that the DB connection has been reset, for the first request after the recycle. At this time , the broker refreshes its DB pool and subsequent messages should be processed successfully.

That said, the error that you have indicated seem to be an MQ error (MQRC_CONNECTION_BROKEN) and I think this might be related to MQ and not to MB.
