Hi,
Presently one of my production server is having the MQ 6.0.2.0, We are planning to install latest FIX Pack MQ 6.2.0.5
For installing the latest fix pack do i need to un-install and install the whole MQ or it's ok if i install directly MQ Fix pack |

That question has been answered many times on this forum - please use the search facility!
Short answer: NO, you do not have to uninstall - it's a FixPack - logic says it's there to fix something, which it can't do if that 'something' has been uninstalled.

But i have gone through the IBM sites they are saying we need to remove the gsk7bas anf gsk7bas64 packages
Below is the inforamtion i got from IBM site
Solaris
--------
Shut down all MQ applications and any other products that are
using GSKit. Before installing the WebSphere MQ fix pack
uninstall the old level of the GSKit packages using the commands:
pkgrm gsk7bas
pkgrm gsk7bas64
During the uninstallation process you will be warned that other
products have a dependency on the GSKit packages, reply 'Yes' to
continue the uninstallation process.
When installing the WebSphere MQ refresh pack the new GSKit packages
gsk7bas and gsk7bas64 will be listed with the WebSphere MQ package.
If the system uses SSL channels, or will use SSL channels, these
should BOTH be selected for installation.
This is because both 64-bit and 32-bit processes may need to load
GSKit libraries.
The level of GSKit provided with this fix pack, 7.0.4.17,
requires the following system patches (listed by version of Solaris)
to be installed before GSKit is installed.
Solaris v8 for SPARC(for both 32 and 64 bit GSkit binaries):
108434-14 or later,
111327-05 or later,
108991 or later,
108993-31 or later,
108528-29 or later,
113648-03 or later,
116602-01or later,
111317-05 or later,
111023-03 or later,
115827-01 or later
Solaris v9 for SPARC(for both 32 and 64 bit GSkit binaries):
111711-08 or later |

Strictly speaking (AFAIK), the GSKit is not WMQ-specific but is bundled with it. My apologies, I forgot about that aspect.

seems those links are not useful for me, just i need the inforamtion do i need to un-insrtall before proceeding for the MQ 6.0.2.5 FIX pack, At present my machine is having the 6.0.2.0 fix pack
As suggested by IBM they are asking to remove gsk7bas and gsk7bas64 folders
As i dont have the time to go through the PDF could please any one confirm me do i need to un-install anything before proceeding for Latest Fix pack |

The links mqjeff supplied are platform specific Quick Beginnings manuals (as you did not state which) and detail how to remove the GSKit. I believe that:
aq = AIX
hq = HP-UX
qbi = iSeries
lq = Linux
sq = Solaris
wq = Windows
If those links are not useful to you, and you can't be bothered to go through them - good luck, because you're going to need it!

yes exerk those are platform specific quick beginnings mauals,
I know how to remove the GSKit packages but mainly i would like to know do i need remove those packages or not |

You've already answered you own question...if in doubt, uninstall them and install the updated packages from the FixPack.

Actually am not in doubt just want to get the double confirmation as am going to Applying the fix pack on Production server
Because i got good and many answers from this forum to all my questions and worked fine |

But there's no need for such confirmation. Before upgrading a production server you will of course have a system level backup.....

now am in doubt
IBM site is suggesting to remove the gsk7bas and gsk7bas64 packages
But one of my friend is suggesting instead of deleting the above packages un-install the old fix pack that is installed on the server
When i used the below command it's showing me the current fix pack
pkginfo | grep mqm
application mqm WebSphere MQ for Sun Solaris
application mqm-06-00-02-00 WebSphere MQ for Sun Solaris - U806616
My friend suggested me delete the mqm-06-00-02-00 using below command
pkgrm mqm-06-00-02-00
so which is correct procedure please suggest, should i go with the deletion of gsk7bas and gsk7bas64 packages or mqm-06-00-02-00 delete |

And how did it work when you did it on your test server, which I know you did before considering touching the production server.

How about doing what the readme file that came with the FixPack says? Its quite specific. That along with the links mqjeff gave you has every piece of info you need.
