Hi all,

Some developers are intending (for Russian application purpose) to create messages containing cyrilic characters . Is MQSeries allowing that kind of native action or do we have to plan for specifics operations ?
If yes , is it possible to know which one ?

Regards

What operations are you meaning, aside from the inbuilt converstion (which I'm assuming you're using)?

I meant : Is MQSeries allows directly that kind of operations (create messages including cyrillic characters and read it in English ) or do we have to use specific technics in order to get and read the message in proper English language .

purpose of application:
Some of our clients based in Russia will create message with cyrillic characters for clients based in London . Because people in Great Britain do not understand cyrilic messages , we need to figure out the right technic in order to be able to interpret and read the message in English .

WMQ is blind to the content of a message. If the message is set up as a string, and WMQ is requested to do so, it will convert it from one code page to another.

But that's the limit of it. Assembling the message, and interpreting it at the target, is the responsibility of the applications in question. This is true if the message body is text (e.g. XML), a stream of binary data (e.g. packed numbers) or contains cyrillic characters (e.g. your message).

Character code set translation is supported. Check out the list of supported translations on the IBM site.

Language translation is a complete different animal. You will need some other software to do this. (Russian to English vs English to Russian)
