1. Take 1 server and add Windows.
2. Add a dash of other required software.
3. Mix in WebSphere MQ, using the current supported flavour of course.
4. Bake a queue manager, or more depending on taste.
5. Drop required objects into the queue manager(s).
6. Whisk into a cluster if required, or just present as stand alone, to your network.
7. Drizzle over stand-by/fail-over procedures in accordance with your site standards.
8. Garnish with a procedural document.
9. Serve up to your management as a festive feast.

You can use MSCS to provide a standby server.

Chapter 13 of the WMQ admin guide.

Same as you would for any other software.

If you need a DR/backup server then you should use the MSCS Cluster.

Steps:

1. Take another Windows servers
2. Install Mq and create queue manager(with same name of exiting qm) locally
3. Create the same MQ objects, channel on this server as if your existing Windows server.
4. use havmqm to migrate queue manager log file under MSCS from both windows server
5. register it under MSCS Cluster
