MQ is supposed to be forward compatible. You are supposed to be able to use applications compiled against MQ v{x-1} on MQ v{x} "without problem". It's not, actually, supposed to be backwards compatible - despite this I still build ms03 against vCurrent.

And the point on opening a PMR was less about "inform the dev team that XMS is not supported on v7", but more about "how do I contact the dev team".
