Hi,
I know MQ 5.3 is out of support but here's the issue. Our group recently took over admin for MQ and upgrading MQ on on this box immediately is not a viable solution.

We currently have MQ 5.3 CSD12 on a AIX box with 10 processor.

If I want to set limit on the number of processor that MQ can use to 4 , Will this cause any issues ?

Can this be done dynamically ?

Below is the dspmqcap display

>dspmqcap
The number of license units is sufficient for all future possible upgrades to
this machine.
The number of processors in this machine is 10

Thanks

No you can't control what processors or how many MQ runs on, and that's not what setmqcap is for anyway.

If you only want MQ to use 4 processors on your 10 way AIX server, then run MQ in an LPAR that only has 4 processors allotted to it.

Thanks. We were trying to find if there is a easier solution to this.
