Hi,
I use MQSI on HP-UX wiht oracle 8.x. I have NLS_LANG set to POLISH_POLAND.EE8ISO8859P2. In db I have some language specific data such as character wiht code B1 (hex).
I execute a select that gets data from db into LocalEnvironment.Variables subtree. Than I read this subtree with cniElementCharacterValue() in C plugin node. I suppose to get Unicode 0105 (hex) but I got 00BF which is wrong.
When I put character with code B1 into a message and read it with cniElementCharacterValue I got 0105 (hex) which is correct.
So I think that problem is somwhere between Oracle and MQSI ?
Any suggestions ?
I've tried setting NLS_LANG=POLISH_POLAND.UTF8 but than I got MQSI errors like this:
BIP2324E: Unsupported datatype '-9' fetched from database table column ...
Had anyone experienced simmilar problems ?
Where can I look for some info about configuring external db and MQSI to work with naltional languages ?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
We made it working with NLS_LANG=POLISH_POLAND.EE8ISO8859P2
I do not know how I was only told that there was wrong encoding set in Oracle database.

Hi Mateo,
I'm really stucked with this error, now we are trying with UTF-8, but as it seems to me it's worth to move forward with the AMERICAN ISO codepage. Can't you remember what Oracle changed on the database?
Or would you suggest me an oracle tech contact person who knows this?
Unfortunately I don't have connection to local oracle people here in Hungary.
Regards,
Peter. _________________ Péter Bősze
