| The file amqmdnet.dll changed size from 356 KB to 582 KB between version 6 and version 7 of websphere MQ for Windows. However, the version number stayed the same at 1.0.0.3. Shouldn't the version number change given that the size obviously has changed. This file can be found in C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere MQ\bin |

There is no published correlation between Windows DLL versions and MQ versions, even though there may seem to be on some DLLs.

| How can one distinguish between these versions of the DLL? I need multiple versions in the GAC for multiple versions of MQ. |

Maybe use the file size or a checksum, however this may change with every CSD or FixPack if the DLL is updated.

| I need both of these versions in my GAC. They overwrite each other when you install them in the GAC because someone didn't bump the version number. |

I have to ask why you need both versions of the MQ stuff in your assembly?
If this is truly necessary, then I think you will have to open a PMR with IBM and persaude them that it is realistic to require this, and that they need to provide a solution.
