We are creating a new WF environment where in we would like to have the workitems from an existing working wf environment to this new environment. Could you please advice on how this can be achieved ? |

Assuming you are saying a different RTDB, there is no utility I am aware of that could do this.
You would likely need to write code to start each instance in the new RTDB and "walk" it to the proper location. And even then, you will not have an "exact" duplicate. _________________ John McDonald

I am assuming here that the new environment is NOT identical. If everything is identical, I.E. System, SysGrp, IP address, etc, then you could likely just restore the RTDB to the new location. There are other posts in this forum regarding this. My assumption was that this was not the case based on the original question.
Also, I did not say it could not be done, just that there was no canned program to do it. _________________ John McDonald

Hi John,
We have mirrored our boxes from one of the box where MQWF is running fine. So all the setup remains the same EXCEPT the server IP address and the machine name.
So if I copy the RTDB from my working environment and copy it to my new environmnet, will it bring all the working instances into the new environment ? or is there something else which i might need to do?
Regards,

It is my opinion that unless the environments are identical, this will not work. However, this is not something I can say with 100% certainty as I have never tried it. It is however, documented some place (perhaps on this forum or maybe the IBM forum, or a techNote) that the environments must be identical. _________________ John McDonald
