I am running WebsphereMQ v5.3

Assuming default configuration on AIX (remote) and NT (local) servers, how can I get the remote AIX default queue manager to appear in Explorer and Services snap-ins running on the local NT server so I can create channels and queues on the remote default QM?

Thanks in advance

Well 2 things are required

1) You need a SVRCONN Channel on the AIX Box
SYSTEM.ADMIN.SVRCONN

2) The NT Userid you are using must be a valid userid on the unix box
with MQSeries mqm group rights
(the login ID has to appear in the /etc/passwd file).

Thanks Jeff,

Once I get the user ID on AIX that matches my ID on NT and I start the command queue and command server on the AIX box, how do I get Explorer and Service snap-ins on NT to "see" the AIX Queue Manager.

Well the explorer you just need to add it like any other remote queue manager.

1) Right click over the Queue Manger tag and select Show queue manager
2) Select Show remote queue manager
3) Type in queue manager name
4) Type in connection name (host(port))
