We are trying decide on appropriate configuration of our MQ
environment. This configuration will include MQ clients as well as a
cluster of MQ queue managers.
We want to have a clustered queue that has instances on 4 different
queue managers. We want 10 MQ clients to be able to do MQGETS to these clustered queues. Is an MQ client capable of participating in the
workload balancing capabilities of a cluster so that each client is
directed by the cluster to a particular instance of the clustered queue.
I open this question to IBM and they concurred about the MQGETS required client connect to a specific queue manager.
However, they did say an MQ client application can MQPUT messages to a cluster queue that has multiple instances on clustered queue managers. They said the messages are load balanced across these qmgrs using workload balancing features.
I didn't think the mq client participates in clustering this way.
Do you concur with the response from IBM about MQPUTs?
