I have to transmit data across AS400 systems using MQSeries. the data comes from many files.
will it be better if i construct a single message with all the data or individual messages (one for each file).
there are lots of files involved. |

Depends on file size,
One issue is that the MQMD and other headers is 300-500 bytes,
so if you send smaill files you could be sending more header data than

There is no recomended size, the only thing I have noticed is that the bigger the message the better the throughput, we had created our own
API wrapper and bundled messages up to 4mb. Well that requires that the application create 4mb/ agent process 4mb/4mb for channel process/4mb for channel agent process. Total 16mb, so one of the things to consider is the system resources you will have available. _________________ Jeff
