Hello
I have been struggling to find the information how to migrate all queue managers and related configuration to a bland new server. The MQ client is ver 6.0 and there are many queue managers configured including SSL, security exist, MQ environment variables etc... I am planning to move this MQ to more powerful server. On the new server, the MQ clinet has already been installed, but since i dont have a script for the existing queue managers, i am looking for a way to move all MQ to the new server. Does anyone know the easiet way to do this? or do i need to recreate all MQ objects in the new server manually?
Thanks for your kind support in advance.
Regards
Hiro

If MQ Server is not installed then defining the queue managers will be a little problematic!

I'd consider the saveqmgr support pac (MS03 IIRC). You'll also find some potentially useful tips searching the forum.

Thank you for your kind reply.

Actually i was also looking at the saveqmgr support pac, but was not very sure how it works.

I also found the feature export/import within MQ explore, not sure if this satisfy my needs... according the the explanationo in the help....

Exporting and importing settings in WebSphere MQ Explorer
You can export your settings from WebSphere MQ Explorer for backup purposes, or to transfer and import the settings into another instance of WebSphere MQ Explorer. You can export and import the following types of settings in WebSphere MQ Explorer:

Column schemes that you have created
Filters that you have created
Connection details for remote queue managers
Preferences that you have set in WebSphere MQ Explorer

There are instructions included with the pack.

AFAIK that just exports the Explorer settings, not the underlying objects.
