Hi,

I've just installed MQ 6.0 on Solaris 10. However, the following attempt to create a queue manager returns with the error message

#crtmqm -q QM1
AMQ8101: WebSphere MQ error (893) has occurred.

I've followed the installation instructions closely, though the FDC seems to indicate that this is a permissions issue. Can anyone familiar with this assist?

Thanks.

FDC

Do a search on google AMQ8181+893. A variety of causes. You might consider applying service to bring MQ up-to-date from 6.0.

This is not a WMQ problem. A security error means that the OS has not supplied WMQ with the security info necessary to authenticate the user.

On Solaris this can be caused by incorrect formatting of the group file, or by a failure in some auth subsysten, often LDAP.

Applying WMQ maintenance will have no effect on the problem.

Cut the auth mechanism back to small local groups, and go forward from there to find out the cause.
