What is the difference between Encoding and CCSID?

It's the same difference between Encoding and CCSID.

Encoding and CCSID are two fields in the Message Descriptor that flows with your application data in an MQ message. The MD contains information about your application data.

CCSID identifies the coded character set ID (code page) of the platform where the message was created. Encoding identifies how numerics are handled.
