Here comes an awful suspicion: did he use a model queue as DLQ ?? The trm usually has the DLQ open for output...

Would this qualify for the 'self-inflicted wound' category?

"War Stories".

I dare you to try 'del "" ' from a windows command prompt, when you have previously "cd c:\winnt\system32".

DARE.

Oh no, I (she) didn´t use a model queue for dlqh, just a plain local queue..
And yes, it´s just a pop up that comes from MQ Explorer saying that the service (runmqtrm) cannot be stopped. But it works fine now when i added the SYSTEM.DEFAULT.MODEL.QUEUE back.
For some reason the service needs to use the SYSTEM.DEFAULT.MODEL.QUEUE.

I guess that the shell that starts & stops the WebSphere MQ Services needs to use a dynamic queue (built off S.D.M.Q) to receive commands from the MQ Explorer...

The MQ Explorer, like other admin apps, needs a reply-to-queue to receive replies from the command processor.

THAT reply queue is built from SYSTEM.MQEXPLORER.REPLY.MODEL, not S.D.M.Q.
